For software and app businesses
Facebook ads for sign-ups that turn into paying users
I run Facebook ads for sign-ups for software and app businesses that need free trials, webinar registrations and demo requests that actually activate. One chain: ad → sign-up → activation → paying user.
15 minutes. No pitch deck. If I can't help, I'll tell you.
What changes when I run your free trial sign-up ads
1. Sign-ups that activate
A cheap trial that never logs in twice is wasted spend. Ads set the right expectations, so people show up and use it.
2. Meta finds the right users
The pixel learns from who activates and pays, not just who clicks "start free", so Meta finds more of them.
3. Ad spend you can tie to MRR
Sign-up, activation and purchase tracked end to end, so you know what a paying user actually cost.
4. You talk to the person doing the work
No account managers or juniors. One media buyer, a handful of clients, and you hear what changed before you ask.
How it works
Launch, get data, keep what works, cut what doesn't, then scale.
-
1
Onboarding and research
Your offer, your customers, your numbers, and what's been tried before.
-
2
Build the ad structure and sign-up flow
Campaigns set up for clean testing, plus tracking for sign-up, activation and purchase events. Landing page builds are quoted separately.
-
3
First ad batch
Different personas and messages tested to find who signs up and actually activates.
-
4
Keep what works, cut what doesn't every 7–14 days
Turn off losing ads, make new ones around the winning persona, and fix page copy, fields and onboarding emails where people drop off.
-

Scale
More spend on what's proven, and the optimisation event moves to activation or purchase once there's enough data.

Questions people ask
What does it cost?
From $750 a month for one platform and one campaign. Extras only if you need them. Ad spend is paid directly to Meta from your own account.
Do you optimise for sign-ups or paying users?
We start on sign-ups to get volume, then move the optimisation event to activation or purchase as soon as there's enough data. That's where user quality jumps.
Is there a minimum ad budget?
I recommend $1,500+ per month in ad spend. Below that, Meta doesn't get enough sign-ups to optimise properly and we'd be guessing.
Can you improve our activation rate?
Usually the biggest win. The right expectations in the ad, less sign-up friction and a proper onboarding sequence lift activation, and Meta gets better users to learn from.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No. Month to month after an initial three-month setup period. You keep the ad account, the pixel, the creative and the data.
What happens on the call?
15 minutes. I'll look at your current ads and funnel beforehand, tell you what I'd change and why, and you decide if you want help doing it.
Let's look at your sign-up funnel
If you're already running ads, I'll look at them before the call. Worst case, you leave with a plan.
